Four big changes are occurring in the global economy: permanently higher oil prices, a revolution in manufacturing, demographic aging, and rising income inequality. What do these mean for the US economy, for Virginia, and for Danville? Some things will help a city that is prepared for these changes, but other will present significant challenges to a city that has already substantially de-industrialized.
