Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner
A household of elderly widows, sisters, are the characters of Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner, coming soon to the Gretna Movie Theatre. Crazy? Eccentric might be the better descriptive. By their own admission, they share the responsibility of long living according to their talents. Lydia is the baker and cook; Dora is the seamstress; and Maggie, well, Maggie is the housekeeper and dreamer.
Visited regularly by their family Doc, and almost daily by the grocery delivery girl, Blue, they chatter amiably about what ever strikes them at the moment. But Lydia’s daughter, Phyllis, has other plans, and Doc thinks he has a solution to the threat.
Enter Jean Mitchell, registered nurse, needing a place to stay, and Doc arranges for her to rent a room in the house on the corner. Jean’s personal life includes Calvin, her amusing fiancé who enlivens the action with embarrassing revelations.
We promise, if you are in need of uplifting hilarity for any reason, this is the show to see. Laughter is good for what ails us, and you’ll feel so much better as you leave the theatre.
