Sovah Health - Danville is a 250-bed academic community hospital with the region's only designated 24/7 Chest Pain Center & Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center and has formal affiliations with Duke University Medical Center in the areas of Cardiology, Stroke (Telestroke) Care, Infectious Disease Control, and Radiation Oncology. The facility has served the community and region for more than 120 years and was formerly known as Danville General Hospital, The Memorial Hospital, and Danville Regional Medical Center. Danville has comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour emergency services, inpatient rehabilitation, an advanced wound healing center, cardiac rehabilitation center, two cardiac catheterization labs, and medical, radiation oncology services, and a free-standing imaging center.

Since 2006, Sovah Health has hosted third and fourth-year medical students in a variety of core and elective inpatient out outpatient rotations. Beginning in 2010, Sovah Health Graduate Medical Education (GME) earned institutional and program accreditation from the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to begin training the next generation of physician residents specializing in family and internal medicine. Sovah Health family and internal medicine resident physicians and medical students live in Danville and rotate through local physician practices and Sovah Health. Each physician resident receives nearly 9,000 hours of training during their three-year residency.
