Elkhorn Lake & Campground (ELC) is a membership only campground located in Java, VA that offers a serene retreat for lot campers, seasonal members, and corporate members amidst the picturesque surroundings of Elkhorn Road. ELC tract encompasses 346 acres of forestland surrounding Elkhorn Lake, a 110-acre reservoir raised in the early 1950s as a recreation project of the Riverdan Benevolent Fund. The lake drains into the Banister River and then to the Dan River. The lake and campground are well-known attractions in the county that many generations have enjoyed. Guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the area while taking advantage of the amenities and activities available on-site. Whether relaxing by the lake or exploring the nearby attractions, Elkhorn Lake & Campground provides a peaceful escape for those seeking a tranquil outdoor getaway. Our corporate season spans from May 1st to September 30th and amenities include the following:

All members under corporate membership have access to the front of the campground which includes the 110-acre lake, sandy beach area, front swimming pool, playgrounds, basketball court, beach volleyball area, corn hole area, tent camp area, pavilions, and bathhouses. The front pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
