About Us

Habitat for Humanity builds strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income families to build simple, decent homes. Habitat partner families are selected based on their need for decent shelter, their ability to pay for a Habitat home and their willingness to partner with Habitat by helping to build their home and participate in home owner education classes.

The Habitat ReStore is a retail operation which supports the home-building ministry of Habitat for Humanity. The ReStore accepts donations of new and gently used appliances, building materials, cabinets and furniture and sells these items to raise operating funds.

Established in 1991, Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2016. To date, DPCHFH has built a total of 38 new homes in Danville and Pittsylvania County and rehabbed 5 homes in Danville, providing more than 200 people the opportunity to own a decent, affordable, healthy home.
