 | Danville, Virginia | Full-Time | Regional Travel

Can you troubleshoot a welding system, understand what the measurements are telling you, and get equipment back into service?

At WB USA LLC, we're expanding our technical services team and looking for a hands-on Field Service & Calibration Technician who enjoys solving engineering problems and working directly with customers.

This isn't a position where you'll spend every day doing the same thing.

One day, you could be servicing and calibrating industrial welding equipment. The next, you could be installing, troubleshooting, or supporting specialist weld monitoring and inspection technology developed by our technology partner, The Validation Centre (TVC).

You'll work with manufacturers across industries where equipment reliability, weld quality, and traceability really matter.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Welding Equipment Service & Calibration: Inspect, test, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate industrial MIG, TIG, and other welding power sources and associated equipment.
  • TVC Technical Support: Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate specialist weld monitoring, data logging, and inspection systems.
  • Field Service: Visit customer facilities to diagnose faults, carry out preventative maintenance, and return equipment to reliable operation.
  • Technical Testing: Perform electrical and functional checks using calibrated test instruments and established procedures.
  • Documentation: Prepare accurate service reports, calibration certificates, and equipment maintenance records.
  • Customer Support: Work directly with customers to resolve technical issues, explain findings, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Continuous Development: Receive specialist product training and help develop our growing U.S. technical service capabilities.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is technically curious, dependable, and comfortable working independently.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Experience servicing, maintaining, or calibrating industrial welding equipment, electrical systems, or electronic instrumentation.
  • Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read technical diagrams and use test equipment.
  • Familiarity with calibration procedures, measurement accuracy, and technical documentation.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to work with equipment software and digital reporting systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach when working with customers.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites.

An associate degree, technical qualification, or equivalent practical experience in electrical engineering, electronics, instrumentation, or a related discipline would be advantageous.

Experience with IEC 60974-4, ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, welding process monitoring, or NDT instrumentation would be beneficial, but isn't essential for the right candidate.

Why Join WB USA?

We're building something more than a traditional welding equipment service business.

WB USA combines specialist welding consumables, advanced manufacturing technology, welding automation, and technical services to support American industry.

Through our partnership with TVC, we're also developing U.S.-based capabilities to support advanced weld monitoring and inspection equipment.

This is an opportunity to join a growing business, work with specialist technologies, develop your technical expertise, and play a meaningful role in shaping our service operations.
