Injection Molding Process Technician

Job Overview:

Responsible for coordinating Injection molding, tooling, and related activities.

Responsibilities:

· Coordinate machine –mold combinations to achieve on time shipment of finished product.

· Monitor raw material inventory levels and maintain adequate stock as defined by production.

· Ensure that the process meets or exceeds cycle-time and quality parameters.

· Ensure that molds are in top condition and running with few or no plugged cavities as specified.

· Ensure that appropriate documentation is accurately maintained as to develop a mold history of each tool.

· Do mold repairs as necessary and sustain an interval for preventive maintenance as well as perform said maintenance.

· Maintain inventory of spare components needed for mold repairs.

· Ensure that lines of communication remain open at all times between molding and tooling personnel, and internal and external customers.

· Take advantage of all training available to more efficiently conduct your obligations.

· Assist in supervision of molding and tooling personnel activities to ensure adequate use of available resources.

· Ensure all personnel follow GMP procedures.

· Provide input and suggestions to management so as to allow for continual improvement of molding or tooling operations.

· Implement procedures and improvement plans as directed by management.

· Perform work in a safe manner while identifying and communicating potential hazards in or around the workspace.

· Participate in quality, safety, and staff meetings as needed.

· Perform other duties as required by management.

Requirements:

· Ability to operate a forklift and other related mold handling equipment.

· Ability to effectively and accurately communicate with both internal and external customers via email, telephone, and letter.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written and verbal instruction. Ability to present information and respond to questions from management.

· Ability to do mold maintenance and adequately work with clearances of .0005” when needed. Capable of using mold maker tools such as micrometers, depth gauges, etc.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written.

· Ability to use computer applications and spreadsheets to maintain inventory and material information.

Education/Training:

High school or GED required. Machinist associate's degree preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in mold tool and die repair preferred.

Experience working with word processing, spreadsheets, and database computer applications is required.

Pay: $19.00 - $30.00 per hour
